The Pineal Gland, also called the third eye, is the most mysterious organ in the entire human body. It is recognised and celebrated throughout ancient cultures including Judiac, Taoist, Mayan, Tibetan, Egyptian, Greek and Aboriginal. It is possibly one of the most important organs, yet the most misunderstood.

In this article I’m going to teach you how to decalcify and strengthen your third eye. This will activate its spiritual power, allowing you to become more in tune with your instinctive knowledge, so you can reach your full potential.

WHAT IS THE PINEAL GLAND?

The Pineal Gland is a pea-sized (5-8mm) gland shaped like a pine-cone (hence the name pine-al). It is related to the endocrine system and is located in the centre of the brain near the hypothalamus and pituitary gland.

WHAT DOES IT DO AND REPRESENT?

The pineal gland’s physical functions include producing melatonin which is a hormone that helps regulate our sleep cycles, reproductive hormones and stress levels. It works symbiotically with the hypothalamus gland and effects the body’s thirst, biological clock, sexual desire and hunger.

On a spiritual level it has very powerful mystical qualities. It is unique as it is the only part of the brain that doesn’t have an opposite hemisphere counterpart; it is a singular component. Some have called it the “seat of the soul”.

It is also called the third eye because when we awaken it and become in tune with its presence, it opens up a doorway to the spiritual world, allowing us to experience more imagination and clarity, and tap into our intuition on a deeper level.

HOW DOES THE PINEAL GLAND BECOME CALCIFIED?

The pineal gland, or third eye, can become closed and ineffective due to abnormal calcification. This is the build up of calcium salts in soft tissue causing it to harden.

One of the most common factors is fluoride which is in most of the world’s drinking water and which is extremely poisonous to the body. This gland lacks the natural blood-brain wall of protection that helps to shield other areas of the brain, so it is more exposed to substances like fluoride. Exposure to this toxin over time calcifies and hardens the pineal gland, thereby reducing its function. Other toxins such as mercury, halides, processed sugar, artificial sweeteners and anything that isn’t found in nature, also contribute to a calcified pineal gland.

7 WAYS TO DECALCIFY THE PINEAL GLAND

SUNGAZING

Sun gazing is an ancient technique that will help decalcify the third eye. By gently gazing at the sun the first few minutes of sunrise and/or sunset, you are taking in the most powerful life-force energy that exists. This will help purify your mind, body, and pineal gland. Higher spectrum of light helps the pineal gland produce more melatonin which governs our circadian rhythms, bringing us back into balance, and opening our third eye.

ESSENTIAL OILS

Essential oils are a beautiful and gentle way to stimulate the pineal gland. They embody the frequencies and healing properties of plants, and these properties work on all levels of being. Some good choices include lavender, sandalwood, frankincense, cypress, rosemary, angelica root, and juniper. Rub a little on your third eye during the day, and use them in an oil burner in the house.

CRYSTALS

The third eye is associated with the colour indigo, so crystals like amethyst, moldavite, purple fluorite, and black obsidian may be used to open, activate, and balance the chakra system and nurture the third eye. Place the crystal in the centre and slightly above the brow during meditation while lying down. You can also wear the crystal as jewellery.

EAT ORGANIC, RAW LIVING FOODS

When people eat cooked or processed food and put things into their bodies that don’t belong there, toxins begin to accumulate and this keeps the third eye shut.

It’s not a coincidence that when people begin to eat cleaner and detoxify their body, they start to have a new outlook on life. Raw fruits and vegetables are high vibrational foods full of pranic energy. These help to purify and cleanse the entire body so the third eye can awaken, allowing you to have a fresh and clearer view of the world around you. All raw foods are fantastic, but particular ones that detoxify the third eye include lemons, watermelon, berries, bananas, pineapple, avocado, cilantro, spirulina, leafy greens, and ginseng.

DRINK CLEAN WATER

It’s crucial that you avoid tap water and drink clean water; either filtered or spring. By doing this you are avoiding the intake of fluoride and many other toxins which calcify the pineal gland. Put a water filter on your taps and showers. Toothpaste is another prominent source of fluoride so ensure you’re using a natural product.

SUPPLEMENT WITH IODINE

Many people are deficient in iodine. This is an essential mineral for helping the thyroid gland regulate hormones. Iodine has also been found to help flush fluoride from the body, thus protecting the pineal gland. You can get it from natural sources like spinach, broccoli, dried seaweed, prunes, bananas, cranberries and strawberries. You can also take a supplement. I recommend the highest quality nascent iodine like this one.

MEDITATION

Meditation is a spiritual practice that brings your whole being back into balance and allows you to have an inward experience while raising your vibration. This helps you to live in the present moment while becoming very conscious and mindful. Aim to be still in silence for a minimum of five minutes every day and send gratitude to your third eye. This combination of gratitude and going inwards will help to activate your pineal gland’s potential.

Having a third eye is cause for celebration. Just because we can’t see it, doesn’t mean we should forget about it, because it opens up a doorway into a world that’s probably more real than anything else. Incorporate these practices into your life on a regular basis to help drive your intuitive abilities and connect with your true self on a deeper level.
