Energising Vanilla Grape Smoothie

This banana and grape smoothie is not only good looking and seriously yummy – it serves a purpose – to nourish your body and revitalise your cells.

This recipe uses frozen grapes, although fresh grapes are also suitable. Have you tried frozen grapes before? If not, you definitely need to! They are natures candy. They are super sweet already, but I swear freezing them makes them even sweeter for some reason.

HEALTH BENEFITS OF GRAPES

HEART

The fiber and potassium in grapes also support heart health. Grapes also contain resveratrol which improves the dilation of blood vessels and allows blood to flow more easily through blood vessels. It has also been shown to relax the walls of the blood vessels, therefore lowering blood pressure and allowing a higher volume of blood to flow through the body. This increases oxygen and nutrients to the body’s cells.

BRAIN

Grapes can enhance brain health and delay the onset of degenerative neural diseases. Studies at the University of Switzerland shows the powerful brain-protecting ability of resveratrol. It was found that it mops up brain-damaging plaques and free radicals, which have been linked to Alzheimer’s disease.

DIGESTION

Eating foods that are high in water content like grapes help to keep you hydrated and your bowel movements regular.
