I think everybody’s body is beautiful and unique and you shouldn’t allow the appearance of cellulite to get you down or define you as a person. But in saying that, it’s lovely to have skin that is smooth, toned and dimple-free. What our body looks like on the outside also represents what’s going on on the inside. Having smooth cellulite-free skin shows that your lymphatic system is healthy and eliminatory organs are working efficiently to remove waste from the body.
What is cellulite?
Cellulite is that lumpy, dimply appearance on the skin which occurs when fat pushes up against the vertical connective tissue that surrounds fat cells.
What causes cellulite?
The cause of cellulite is an accumulation of toxins and acidic waste (mainly from eating a processed diet). The lymphatic system becomes backed up, the liver gets sluggish, and the circulatory system cannot work efficiently to get rid of stored up toxins.
If you want to get rid of cellulite forever it is important to get to the root cause and understand that there is no cream or lotion which is going to get rid of it – they may have certain ingredients which diminish the appearance, but the results are not permanent.
5 ways to eliminate cellulite forever
Exercise
Any form of exercise is great to get the body moving, tone the muscles, and get the blood flowing to help to remove toxins. Go to the gym and work out to build muscle in those areas affected by cellulite. Or do lunges and squats, ride your bike or go hiking – move and pump the lymph. Rebounding is particularly fabulous because it stimulates the lymphatic system which helps your body drain and eliminate toxins. Consistent rebounding for 10-20 minutes per day will tone your body.
Dry body brushing
I have been practicing dry brushing for a couple of years and my skin is so much smoother and softer. Dry skin brushing increases lymphatic drainage and stimulates circulation, helping your body remove toxins. It also exfoliates your skin so you can achieve a toned and smooth appearance.

Massage
Get massages! You can also massage the affected areas at home yourself using oils like coconut or olive. Regular massage stimulates the tissues around the cellulite and helps by breaking down the fat and dispersing it, which evens out the dimpled effect and makes the skin tighter.
Colonics and enemas
Most people already have compromised elimination channels, particularly the bowel, so relying on your body’s compromised channels is not necessarily going to get the waste effectively out of your body.
Get a series of colonics (6-9) to help cleanse the bowel and release the lymphatic pressure so it can drain and the toxins will be removed. Or purchase an enema kit for use at home and get into a regular habit of using it. I recommend using it once per week).

Healthy plant-based diet
If you’re keen to reduce your cellulite then a whole food, plant based diet with a balance of cooked and raw foods and plenty of clean water will be effective. If you’re like “No, I want to get rid of it completely!” Then I truly believe eating a diet that is 90-100% living foods is necessary. This leads to true cellular regeneration and high quality tissue formation. Two main foods that fall in to this category are:
Fruit: These include foods like melons, mangoes, papayas, berries, kiwi, oranges, cucumber etc. Fruit is the cleanest and most water rich food that helps your body to flush out toxins and get rid of cellulite. I just want to reiterate that if you have cellulite it shows you have metabolic residues in your intestinal tract. If you decide to begin eating more fruit, the fruit acids and fibres will begin breaking down toxins which will be absorbed into your blood stream. You may experience detoxification symptoms and I recommend taking things slow in the transition to regenerating your body.
Leafy Green Vegetables: These include spinach, varieties of lettuce, kale, celery, and herbs like dill, parsley, mint, cilantro etc. Leafy greens contain chlorophyl that purifies the blood. This is key to cleansing the toxins which create cellulite.
Focus on easy to digest, fresh living foods like whole fruits, juices, smoothies and leafy green salads with small amounts of healthy fats. These are amazing for breaking up those acid wastes and getting rid of cellulite. Eat fresh, living foods every day as part of your lifestyle instead of a diet you do for a few weeks or months.
Incorporate all of these practices consistently (consistency is key) and you’ll be well on your way to having toned, smooth skin. If you do all of these things, you will remove the root cause of the problem, and this will ensure the cellulite is gone forever.

Olivia,
For cellulite reduction on a raw food diet, how much percent of calories per day should come from healthy fat sources? You state small amounts yet what is that amount then in percent?
About 10 – 20 percent of calories from fat is recommended. It does vary depending on the individual as we are all unique. Experiment and discover what works for you 🙂
I have RA, Lupus and a serious problem of osteoporosis and also hypertension. Is busting cellulite a good place to start?
Hi Sheila, incorporating all of these tips will support your body’s detoxification pathways, helping it release toxins and heal naturally. So yes 🙂 this is a great place to begin!
