Calling all chocolate lovers! This recipe is especially for you.
Mint chocolate chip was always one of my favourite ice cream flavours. Recently I found myself craving this flavour and decided to create a smoothie recipe. It is creamy, decadent and rich, with a lovely hint of fresh mint flavour. The crunchy cacao nibs on top add a yummy texture. This is a great recipe to have for breakfast or lunch (and the kids will love it too!)
Reasons to eat mint
The benefits of mint include assistance with weight loss, relief from nausea, depression, fatigue and headaches, treatment of asthma, memory loss, and skin problems. Mint is scientifically known as Mentha, has more than two dozen species and hundreds of varieties.
My favourite benefit of mint is that it promotes digestion. It soothes stomachs in cases of indigestion or inflammation. The aroma of the herb activates the salivary glands in your mouth which secrete digestive enzymes, thereby facilitating digestion.
Split this recipe in two for a snack, or devour it all at once, for a delicious and satisfying meal.
